A&E's 'Hoarders,' Five Other NYC Productions Rearranged Weekend Schedule due to Hurricane Irene

NEW YORK - Hurricane Irene doesn't seem to have caused too many problems for New York City film and TV productions, but it required some schedule changes. "Filming permits that had been issued in New York City for Saturday, August 27 and Sunday, August 28 were revoked, although the six small productions, which were scheduled to film during the weekend, had already voluntarily rearranged their schedules because of the weather," said a spokeswoman for the NYC Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment. The productions affected over the weekend were smaller feature films and reality programs. They are A&E's Hoarders, Style Network's Clean House, Brooklyn Crew, Arrow, The Untitled Leslye Headland project and Untitled Drake Doremus project. It wasn't immediately clear which productions decided to do some interior shoots over the weekend and which simply stopped production temporarily. The Mayor's Office spokeswoman said a combination of both approaches was used. All film permits issued for Monday outside of the city's Zone A, which was deemed most in danger of flooding, are valid, according to city representatives. "Filming permits issued to areas in Zone A and the Rockaways or other areas affected by Hurricane Irene are being considered valid on a case-by-case basis," said the spokeswoman for the NYC Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment. The Good Wife and Gods Behaving Badly were scheduled to shoot on interior stages of Broadway Stages in Zone A on Monday, she said. Feature film Imogene, which according to IMDb stars Kristen Wiig, Matt Dillon and Annette Bening, is planning to film in the Broad Channel section of Queens later this week, but its schedule "is still being determined," the spokeswoman said. Also following Irene, Steiner Studios at the Brooklyn Navy Yard resumed operations around 3pm ET on Sunday, according to a spokeswoman. Email: Georg.
